Perhaps you are wondering why I decided to name an event planning business such a peculiar name as “Jesterbird” Events. Here’s the story behind it. As soon as I could talk I started singing my own nonsense songs, making up original tunes as well as substituting my own version of words for familiar songs. A family friend nicknamed me, “Jesterbird” because I was truly a songbird at that time of my life. As a teenager, I was embarrassed by the nickname - thought it extremely un-cool. Despite my efforts to keep the name under wraps, my parents would tease and humiliate me by calling out that name in front of friends and the name stuck. Today I embrace the peculiarity of the name as it reflects my personality.

As I was looking for a name that captured my purpose for planning events, I searched for words that would convey my attention to detail as well as the originality that I pour into each event I plan. My hunt spanned several languages looking for names that no one in the industry would have used, until I realized that my silly nickname was one word that no one would have thought of before. Since it is those little things that make an event such a huge success, a pretty, little bird would convey that message perfectly. Birds are carefree, graceful, and beautiful. We could all learn something from their natures. They have soirees in the sky with all their closest friends and family, and spend hours every day frolicking in the wind. So you see, while my business may have a unique name, what it represents to you is that I will take care of every finite detail. I will bring pieces of your personal story and originality and weave it into your event to make it one to remember. Above all, I will take the stress out of planning your event so you can be free to laugh, mingle, dance, enjoy, and make new memories.
